BACKGROUND: The Hudsonville Tommy’s Express Car Wash offers “One Stop Clean” for your vehicle, so they needed a flooring solution that would also be easy to clean. The floor in these car washes is also subject to a lot of water so the floor needs to be able to withstand that, as well as have slip resistance for the safety of employees.

APPLICATION: To help with clean-ability and durability on this 3,900 square foot coating project, we developed a heavy duty system that was seamlessly applied from the vertical concrete, through the floor to create a basin. The coating on this job was applied before the normal 28 day cure time for freshly poured concrete (estimated time needed at 70°F), so REV M.V.P. was utilized since it can be applied in as little as 24 hours after concrete is poured. REV M.V.P. can also handle up to 22 pounds of moisture vapor emission, so it is the perfect material for areas that see a lot of moisture (like a car wash). Hybrid XT was also used and will not yellow over time, so even with the large windows in this application, it will keep looking great for years. A heavy broadcast of grip additive was broadcast into the final topcoat for slip resistance.
