BACKGROUND: This Southwest Michigan contract manufacturer built a new large facility to produce their goods for their customers. The large open space required flooring that checked a lot of boxes, yet still fit in the budget. The concrete flooring needed to be easy to clean, not produce dust, be flat for forklift traffic, reflect light for lower lighting costs, and be long lasting. The manufacturer called Xtreme because we are the leading industrial flooring contractors for Southwest Michigan.
APPLICATION: For this Niles polished concrete project, Xtreme was on a tight deadline. Because of the tight budget, we brought in several of our experienced crews along with our fleet of concrete polishing equipment. The equipment used on this Niles polished concrete project consisted of ride-on concrete polishing machines, diamond grinders, dust free HEPA vacuums, burnishers, and large floor scrubbers. Once the equipment was brought on site, our crew started our X-Shine Concrete Polishing System. The polishing process goes through several diamond tooling steps to expose stone aggregate in the concrete, hone and flatten, and polish the surface.
Once the polishing process is completed, a topical product called X-Guard is applied and burnished into the polished concrete surface. Therefore, the surface is sealed and protected to provide better stain resistance and easier cleanability.
