BACKGROUND: This industrial building in Kalamazoo was converted into a marijuana dispensary featuring both medical and recreational marijuana. The previous use of the industrial building had taken a tool on the concrete floor. The cracks, pitting, and old rail systems created challenges for moving carts around the many grow rooms.

After an onsite visit, they chose Xtreme as their Kalamazoo flooring contractor because of our experience with concrete repair, epoxy coating application, and our ability to handle large jobs under a demanding timeline.

This Kalamazoo epoxy flooring project totaled just over 8,000 square feet in size and featured many grow rooms and hallways. The concrete in these areas ranged in condition.

APPLICATION: Xtreme utilized our Impacts Americas shotblasters to prepare the concrete for the epoxy coating. Shotblasting uses small steel bbs to provide a profile for the epoxy to bond to and is dust free. After shotblasting, hand grinding edges, and chasing the cracks and joints with our specialized dust contained saws, our coating crew was able to start the patching and repair process. Once the repairs were complete, we applied our industrial strength V-8 6.0 High Performance Epoxy in several coats. After multiple coats of epoxy, our Magnum Urethane Topcoat was applied giving a textured, monolithic surface with a matte finish.
