Polished concrete maintenance is a simple matter of keeping the floor free from a build-up of dust, dirt, sand, and grime. The floor itself is very resilient and tough. Keeping it clean by dust mopping the surface daily will prevent foreign materials from dulling its high-gloss finish.
Choosing a cleaner for your polished concrete floorsHere at Xtreme Flooring, we are dedicated to helping our customers enjoy their polished concrete floors for as long as possible
One of the great things about having a polished concrete floor is that you’ll never have to pay someone to wax the surface. Maintenance is easy, inexpensive, and environmentally friendly. There’s no need to use harsh chemical cleaners.
We recommend using our Xtreme Clean Concentrated Cleaner on your polished concrete floors. Xtreme Clean is a highly concentrated, versatile cleaner that is formulated to take on a wide range of cleaning jobs. It is able to quickly power off even stubborn soils and greases from any surface not harmed by water. It comes in convenient sizes of (80) 2oz pouches, (24) 15oz pouches, 5 gallon buckets, 55 gallon drums. This concentrated cleaner can be used in mop buckets, auto scrubbers, or spray bottles to keep your polished concrete floors looking great.
Acidic or alkaline floor cleaners break down the shiny surface of a polished concrete floor over time, and it is often quite dangerous to breathe in the fumes.
A good polished concrete floor maintenance program adds years of life to your beautiful floors
Here are some tips to keep in mind when you set up a maintenance program for your polished concrete floors:

  • Keep your mop water clean. Mop and bucket cleaning methods work well for small areas, but change the water frequently to prevent spreading dirt back onto the floor.
  • Use a soft mop head and launder it as directed. A dirty mop will spread dirt, sand, and grime that can cause abrasions to the shiny surface of a polished concrete floor. Launder mop heads frequently and only use the softest material possible to minimize cumulative damage to the floor’s shine.
  • Dust mop daily to prevent buildup of dust, dirt, and sand. Use the softest mop head available, and keep it clean to prevent etching the floor’s surface while mopping.
  • Clean spills immediately. Concrete is a porous surface, so keeping it free from stains involves quick removal of spilled materials.
  • Do not allow cleaning materials to dry on the surface of the concrete floor. Cleaning smaller areas at a time will prevent this from happening.
